Our Aims & Objectives

1.   Organizing and developing existing Community Centers and facilitating the establishment of new Centers and services where needed for previously marginalized African Muslim Communities in the townships and rural villages of Southern Africa.

 

2.    To monitor and set uniform and acceptable standards for Daw’ah and to avoid duplicity.

 

3.    Conducting ongoing development programs and periodic Daw’ah workshops / seminars that teach and improve and promote life skills in the work place, community and family. 

 

4.    Develop and implement Islamic educational programs for Muslim children, adults and Reverts to Islam and imparting teaching skills.

 

5.    To print and provide Islamic and Daw’ah literature including the Quran, in the major languages of the indigenous people of Southern Africa. (Zulu Quran translation already in advanced stage of review)

 

6.    Providing literature, referrals and basic services around health issues (clinics, HIV awareness education, ) that would improve awareness and provide choices and promote healthy living. 

 

7.    To develop a strategic PR Campaign to increase Muslim visibility that would change the perception that Islam is an Indian or Arab religion, to correct the misconceptions about Islam and to get the message of Islam to the non-Muslims in a non confrontal manner using the mainstream media and literature and public talks, including Daw’ah in the prisons. 

 

8.    Long term, to identify and develop the future indigenous Muslim leaders of Southern Africa (succession plan) 

 

9.  Encourage Muslims to participate in public forums, identify qualified Muslims to seek public office and take up community representation and support local organizations with similar goals and objectives. 

 

 

Aims of our newly formed Da’wah Organization 

 

  1. To avoid unnecessary duplication.
  1. To concentrate on providing ‘AFTER SALES’ service. Making someone Muslim is easy – but follow ups and integrating and assimilating them is difficult.
  1. To foster UNITY through Da’wah networking and co-operation for the greater good of Islam and Society.
  1. To set acceptable STANDARDS for Da’wah.
  1. Producing new Research and Training & Teaching material to meet the changing challenges confronting us in the field of Da’wah.
  1. To Motivate & Train Muslims to make Da’wah their priority - as in the SADC region we are ONLY 2 % Muslims!!
